Landesweite Antikriegsdemonstration in den USA
Berlin,
12. März. 2010 Für den 20. März
ist in den USA eine Großdemonstration gegen den Krieg in Afghanistan
und Irak geplant.
Für den 20. März rufen alle
wichtigen US-Friedensorganisationen zu einer Antikriegsdemonstration
auf, zu einem Marsch auf Washington. Zeitgleich mit dem
siebten Jahrestag des Beginns des Angriffskrieges gegen den
Irak. Ungefähr eine Million Iraker und tausende US-Soldaten sind in
diesem Krieg bislang umgekommen. Zehntausende sind verletzt
und verstümmelt. Ganze Landstriche im Irak sind durch die eingesetzte
Uranmunition verseucht und Krebsraten und Missbildungen bei
Neugeborenen sind dramatisch gestiegen.
Am 20.
März werden zehntausende von Menschen zeitgleich in
Washington D.C. in San Francisco und Los Angeles auf die Straße gehen.
Millionen US-Bürger leiden unter Arbeitslosigkeit, Zwangsvollstreckung
und Armut.
Die Friedensorganisation "Act Now to
Stop War and End Racism" (A.N.S.W.E.R. Koalition) organisiert den
landesweiten Protest.gemeinsam mit "World Can’t Wait", "Iraq Veterans
Against the War", "Muslim American Society Freedom", dem "National
Council of Arab Americans" und zahlreichen anderen Organisationen und
Verbänden
Die Forderungen des Marsches
lauten: Sofortiger und bedingungsloser
Rückzug aller US-und NATO-Truppen aus Afghanistan und im Irak. "Kein Krieg gegen den Iran!" "Kein Krieg für Empire Anywhere! " Arbeitsplätze, freie und
allgemeine Gesundheitsversorgung, anständige Schulen und bezahlbare
Wohnungen. Solidarität mit Haiti und Wiedergutmachung durch die US-Regierung
Die bekannte
Friedensaktivistin Cindy Sheehan hat eine neue Initiative für ein
permanentes Friedenslager am Washington Memorial ins Leben gerufen, das
einige Tage zuvor aufgebaut werden soll und von zahlreichen der am
Marsch teilnehmenden Gruppen unterstützt wird.
